Sanford Gold is the firm's lead medical malpractice trial attorney. Currently, he has obtained sixteen consecutive defense verdicts, one of which was selected as one of the top 10 defense verdicts in the country by the National Law Journal.
He has successfully defended a wide range of physicians, and has developed a particular sub-specialty in the field of ophthalmology regularly serving as lead counsel for New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Mr. Gold is the author of "Anatomy of a Lawsuit", a guide for physicians through each step of the litigation process. He is also the author of "Opening Statements – How the Defense Can Seize the Initiative" – delivered to the Trial Lawyers Section of the New York State Bar.
Mr. Gold has been named by Key Professional Media, Inc. to its list of New York Super Lawyers. He was also listed in 2009, 2010 and 2011 Super Lawyers New York for Medical Malpractice Defense.
He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and the Cornell School of Law.
Mr. Gold lives in Westchester, New York with his wife Janet, an attorney and the Editor of Physicians Medical Law Letter, a national publication exclusively for physicians, to which he has contributed a series of articles. Their daughter Emily is a Professor of Law at Pace University School of Law, and their son Jeffrey, is a sportswriter.
