JON D. LICHTENSTEIN

Jon Lichtenstein's practice is focused on insurance coverage, products liability, professional liability, commercial litigation, toxic torts and premises liability. He is one of the firm's trial partners and senior appellate attorneys, with nearly 30 perfected appeals, including 3 matters before the Court of Appeals, and a winning percentage of 70%.

Mr. Lichtenstein graduated from Brandeis University on the Dean's List and obtained his law degree from Brooklyn Law School, where he also made the Dean's List and excelled for Brooklyn's Law School's Moot Court trial team, going to the State Regional finals. He also regularly contributes articles to the New York Law Journal and maintains an insurance coverage blog "Let's Talk Coverage" which can be viewed at jonlichtenstein.blogspot.com.

His most recent New York Law Journal article is titled “Is it True That Estoppel Cannot Create Coverage? That May Depend if You Are in the First Department or the Second Department” which was published in the Outside Counsel Column on September 23, 2010. Past articles include No Duty to Defend Insured Against Affirmative Defense of Offset, NYLJ, Outside Counsel Column, 10/6/09 and First Department Decisions in Conflict Over ‘Other Insurance’ Provisions, NYLJ, Outside Counsel Column, 7/13/09.

Mr. Lichtenstein is the exclusive New York premises defense counsel to Compass Group, USA, Inc., a large multi-national food services company with revenues of $23 billion a year. He is also exclusive local premises counsel to CB Richard Ellis, Inc., the world's premier, full-service real estate services company, as well as exclusive local premises counsel to Patina Group, Inc. operator of 60 restaurants and food service operations in performing arts centers in New York and Los Angeles.

He lives in Greenwich Village with his wife Elissa, an author and graphic designer and their two children.
