DAVID M. DINCE
David M. Dince is a Senior Partner and the Managing Partner of the firm. He also heads the Medical Malpractice practice group, which specializes in the defense of psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, and the Healthcare practice group which provides counsel to physicians and hospitals in a variety of risk management, risk reduction and professional licensing and disciplinary matters. He also is highly experienced in complex litigation management having previously had administrative responsibility for the defense of thousands of asbestos cases in New York.
Mr. Dince joined Gordon & Silber over 30 years ago, after having been an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County. During his time with the firm Mr. Dince has successfully tried and handled a wide variety of medical malpractice matters on behalf of physicians and hospitals. For over 20 years he has represented psychiatrists and other mental health professionals.
In 2012 Mr. Dince was appointed an Adjunct Instructor of Clinical Law at Brooklyn Law School where he has taught each semester since that time. He has also served on the faculty at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law Intensive Trial Advocacy Program. He has lectured extensively including before the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Psychoanalysis, the National Society of Clinical Social Workers and the Risk Management Association of New York.
Mr. Dince is a graduate of Hamilton College and New York Law School. Commencing in 2007, and for each year thereafter, he has been selected by Super Lawyers in the Medical Malpractice Defense category.
Mr. Dince resides in Brooklyn with his wife Lisa Smith, a Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School.
